About this event
Join us in person on April 9th or virtually for 5 Monday evenings April 19th-May 17th to experience practical teaching designed to encourage, educate, and equip adoptive and foster parents, those considering adoption or foster care, and those who are serving and supporting others, including social workers, agency professionals, church staff and ministry leaders, counselors, and therapists.
Learning modules include:
- An Introduction to Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) : “Going Deeper” topic to include the importance of understanding ACES.
- Connecting Principles : “Going Deeper” topic to explore biological and adoptive sibling dynamics.
- Empowering Principles: “Going Deeper” topic to unpack the need to acknowledge one’s own limitations and implement self care strategies as a care provider.
- Correcting Principles : “Going Deeper” topic featuring discussion of the challenges to & importance of finding rhythms to promote unity as parents during the day-to-day.
- TBRI and the Gospel : “Going Deeper” topic to discuss the relational nature of God & the incarnation of Jesus as foundational cornerstones informing the efficacy of TBRI.
1-Day In-Person Schedule

*Onsite boxed lunch will be provided.
Childcare, including snacks and lunch, will be available onsite for foster, adoptive, and kinship families. Please note that reservations must be made in advance through the registration process to ensure sufficient staffing.
5 Week Virtual Schedule - Mondays 5:30-8:00pm, April 19th - May 17th
Monday, April 19: An Introduction to Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)
Monday, April 26: Connecting Principles
Monday, May 3: Empowering Principles
Monday , May 10: Correcting Principles
Monday, May 17: TBRI and the Gospel
Each session will be hosted by a local TBRI Practitioner and will conclude with Q&A time. Attendance at each session is required for a completion certificate.
FAQs
Can I earn professional CEs for this training? Unlike previous years, professional continuing education will not be offered through Show Hope, however, participants will be provided certificates of completion that can be submitted to foster/adoption agencies or local/state accreditation organizations who can award training hours at their discretion.
For the in-person option, what Covid-19 related safety precautions are in place?Those participating in person at Restoration Rome will be admitted if they are symptom-free and have a temperature below 100.4, as measured upon entering the building. Face coverings will be worn by guests, unless seated. The event will be held in the large cafeteria space to allow for physical distancing of participants and attendance will be limited to ensure adequate spacing.
